Partitioning a MySQL table as a workaround?

Good afternoon, the project has a couple of tables in which, supposedly, an active record will be kept. According to my calculations, it will thump from ~1 to ~4 hectares per month. Reading will be done extremely rarely and mainly for the current month. Is it correct to use partitions, do you think? I plan to split it monthly, but I don’t like the idea of merge at all. Or suggest your own. Thanks to.
PS I plan to archive, everything is older than six months.

Yes, correct. And not as a temporary, but as a permanent one - also very good. It was for such tasks that partitioning by date was added.
