Parallel use of a hard drive?

Is it possible to use a hard disk for programs and for virtual machine .vmdk files in parallel?

Danya, you were told 10 times - check the hard one!!
Of course, this is possible - many have 1 disk in their computer and everything is ok. There is no "bug in boxing" or anything else you could come up with - people in tens of thousands do as you described.
You obviously have something that the virtual file itself is screwing up - either the disk is crumbling, or the virus is rummaging around, or you are incorrectly shutting down the virtual machine.

I decided to conduct an experiment. Started with LiveCD Ubuntu 18.04 and put the virtual machine on the same partition as in Windows. Everything lags wildly, slows down hard, but it works.
Launched back into Windows. It was only necessary to turn on this virtual machine once, as everything died and got out

If the iron is ancient, problematic, the external manifestation can be anything.
Therefore, experiments are medium-relevant. Either the disk itself is buggy, or the controller to the disk (maybe even a cable), or a computer (motherboard / memory / processor) - anything can fail from the load.
But yes, the disk and the cable to it must be checked first. And if it's buggy, change it.
