How is windows server 2016 licensed?
The situation is as follows: there is a VM in the data center with 1 percent 16 cores (a license was purchased from windows server 2016 standart for 16 cores), you need to add 16 more cores to this VM, the data center will allow you to do this, but the host itself sees only 16, as I understand it, you need to buy more 1 license for 16 cores or what? Microsoft did not say anything intelligible.

The problem is not the license. The MS does not physically limit the number of sockets (only the OS limit). You must be legally licensed.
