Overselling on volume - what is it like?

I notice that some SEOs choose a niche and promote a site for it. As soon as applications begin to go, they find real performers and work with them either for a percentage or for a wound up amount.
What are the pitfalls?
ps we take into account that the site is promoted by prof. SEO specialist.

If you look from the position of a SEO specialist, then the business model is almost risk-free. He understands that everyone needs applications today and he will not be left without work until the flow of these applications is generated. The only risk is that some of the clients could be processed incorrectly later (slip low-quality goods, communicate, etc.), and this client may subsequently leave a negative review about the site on which he left the application. But this, in today's reality, is a lesser evil than the lack of applications.
From the position of a company that hires a SEO specialist working according to this scheme, the risks are the same as with outsourcing sales. It turns out that the client base is controlled by the SEO specialist and it becomes profitable for him to give the application to the one who pays the most. Most of the clients are disposable. If you somehow do not agree with the SEO specialist, then he will easily change you to another artist. This is about the same as taking a faucet from which water is running and turning it so that the water does not run into the sink, but into the bathroom. Approximately the same can be done with the flow of applications.
In this case, there should always be a plan B: an alternative and working distribution channel.
