OS for weak configuration?

There is a laptop Toshiba satellite l300-11Q
- Intel Celeron 550M;
- Intel GMA X3100;
- 1.5 Gb RAM.
At purchase there was Windows Vista then XP. I decided to blow the dust off it, put 10 on it. It doesn't suit me very much. Linux distributions also considered.
The laptop is used for surfing the Internet, movies / music, sometimes programming.
What OS on this hardware will be more optimal?

Xubuntu. There is little memory for surfing, but if you open a few tabs, then you can live.

Debian Stable or even Oldstable with a lightweight window manager like Openbox or Fluxbox would be fine I think.

Everything will slow down on such hardware.
XP will slow down slightly.
8/10 - strong (because of the RAM).
Linux is merciless.
Easier to sell or throw away

Try Altlinux , which is a LiveCD. It should be enough. It has been experimentally verified that altlinux gets up better than others on old hardware
