Organizing files?
I am writing an article, I wanted to know how and who organizes the files.
1. Lowercase or uppercase letters you give folders.
2. Do you have a file storage or sort downloaded files right away.
3. Windows does not have a repository for how you organize software.
4. How often do you clean up.
5. What programs do you use for systematization.
PS The more detailed the answer, the more likely it is to get a good article. Write not only the answer to the points but your tricks and tricks.

there are no tricks. there is only a brain :)
The better to think over the directory structure, the easier it will be to figure it out.
Regarding folders, I create folders for the approximate content of the files in it. If I know that there will be a lot of files, then I create several folders, if I am sure that there will be no more than 20 files, then everything goes to the other folder
Since Windows 98, I used to name folders in English with a small letter, but now I write more and more often and in Russian. but I don't use spaces, minuses and specials. characters, only: alphabet, numbers, underscore.
Yes, there is a little trick if the folders are called in Russian. I name the most valuable folders with the letter "z" so that they are at the top of the directory
1. Folders always start with a capital letter, then regular ones.
2. I sort the downloaded files at once. If there is a blockage, then I eliminate it on the weekend.
3. D:/Soft/<program_name>
4. I clean my desktop and working folders every weekend. If you meant cleaning the registry, the pace of folders - then once every 2-3 months.
5. CCleaner, TuneUp Utilities.
Recently, I stopped using spaces in the names of files / folders, I replace _ or -. I don't know what it is :)
My five-kopeck tricks:
1) when sorting files of the same type, for example, archives with backups, I append the creation date at the end or beginning of the file name, and in the YYYYMMDD format. Thus, the most recent file is the last one in the list when sorting by name by default;
2) I try to give folders and files in Latin - there are much fewer problems, for example, when mounting balls under Linux;
3) in the folder with films, I add to the file name, in addition to the name of the film, the year of release, dubbing information and frame size.
the basis of sorting is the original folder structure with the selection of especially important files / directories through _ at the beginning + the presence of a description through descript.ion
1. I mostly name in Russian letters, the first one is capital. Systematized files are located on a separate screw, the folders in its root are named in English letters for uniformity (E:\Books, E:\Games, E:\Music, ...). At the root of the system disk, I made symlinks "PF" to "Program Files" and "PF86" to "Program Files (x86)" so that programs that do not understand paths with spaces are placed to the rest, and not to the root of the disk. Games go to D: \ Games (also English letters, path without spaces, separate section - because the system one is a small SSD).
2. The sorted collection is stored, as I already said, on E:, and the freshly received one, if it is not music or study books, is stored in Downloads until the next raking (recently, before reinstalling the system, this folder lost 800 GB).
3. I try to keep everything in "Program files", "Program Files (x86)", "Games". Programs that do not require installation are in "Portable" on the system disk. To simplify access, I installed True Launch Bar (free for ex-USSR), based on it I made a menu with large icons and categories. The submenus consist of a maximum of 17 items, so it is convenient to navigate. "Start" is now used only to call elements from the right side.
4. How lucky - basically, once every six months or a year, most often before reinstalling the system.
5. Already pointed out True Launch Bar, then SpaceMonger for disk cleanup, Ashampoo Uninstaller for complete removal of programs, Acronis True Image Home (namely the Try & Decide function) for programs that will be needed only once.
A little trick: if you need to process a bunch of small files, I copy them to an SSD or RamDisk.
