Organization of Internet TV broadcasting
We think that the other day is January 1, the New Year ... and the calendar tells. And it feels like April 1st.
There was a task to calculate the possibility of opening your own Internet television broadcasting. Almost a mini analogue of "rain" (online broadcasting, live broadcasts, interviews, iOS application)
After rough calculations and when they approached the amount of about 5+ million rubles, they lost their way.
Much is simply not taken into account due to the lack of representation and similar experience.
We consider three options.
1) Phone + online broadcasting + YouTube
2) Renting capacity / channel, uploading ready-made content there and placing it in a playlist in a flash
player
3) Gigabit optics (or two? or three?), own servers, software, own hardware (cameras, sound, light). People who serve it (salary, business trips). Renting a room (xs of what area, let's say 300 rubles per meter). Buying licenses for video/audio content…
Just don’t ask “why, why, why?” How will the money invested...

The channel, the thicker the better. Alternatively, there is Akamai HD Network. You can look for more local CDNs. Equipment for the studio depends on how many studios there will be, how many cameras. If you need more than 3 cameras, then you need a remote control. If offsite events are planned, then a TCP is also needed. The sound is buttonholes, nothing else is needed (again, everything can be different on the road). You don’t need to write anything for an iPhone, there is Apple HLS, it works great in Safari and on osx. Streaming server: wowza or erlyvideo.
To get started, you can use third-party services such as livestream or ustream. Prices are on their website. Livestream maintains proper server playlists.
