Organization of a home-workplace?

Hello. Due to multitasking, you need more work space on your computer, but minimizing and maximizing windows is not an option. I want to connect a 2 monitor, but I'm not strong in the technical part of the issue, I ask for your advice on what to do.
There is a 48-inch TV available, which is not used, with the ability to connect to a computer via VGA. Unfortunately, HDMI and USB, and newer connectors are not. I want the output image on the TV to be at least 1920x1080, the ultrabook has the same resolution.
Thank you.
