Orange Pi PC as a home/office PC replacement?

Faced with the fact that quite a decent computer (2+ GHz, gig of memory) no longer pulls streaming video in browsers, and only at a resolution of 1024x768. I tried it on another 2m Raspberry, the video on youtube plays without problems. Can Orange Pi PC (1Gb) handle it? Those. Requires normal surfing and videos on youtube.

No way.
It's been a very long time, a very indecent computer. You can put some old Linux on it and it will show streaming video for a couple of years, but no more

The computer is normal, it's the manufacturers of the Chrome and Firefox browsers that got a little drunk and made a damn combine. A few tips from the owner of a laptop with Atom instead of a processor, a gig of memory and integrated video, select one or more:
1. Limit yourself to 2-3 tabs in the browser, provided that other programs are closed, and the video is only on one
2. Change the browser, for example, to Qt web browser. Video will work, but JS and other puff-puff-interactive will work worse. You can also intercept the stream through Vlc if they give you
3. Change the OS to a less memory-demanding one, for example, Damn Small Linux
4. The office suite is Office 2007/2010, newer ones are also combines. Libre Office fresh works, but starts in a couple of minutes.
5. Mentally go back to 2005: disable unnecessary services, clean startup, configure swap, boosters / defragmenters of RAM ...
6. If possible, collect all software from sorts for your machine
7. Develop patience

Install OpenElec (Youtube works in 1080 without lags)
