OpenWRT cuts internet speed?
gross time of day.
I will briefly tell you the essence: my router, although an old man, suits everyone. Except for one - for some unknown reason, wifi may disappear. Suddenly. And until you pull the power cord - wifi will not work. So, I endured it for quite some time, until one fine morning I flashed it on OpenWRT.
So, that was the backstory. Now, in fact, I will state what I created this topic for.
OpenWRT is good, there are a lot of functions inside (although not all are needed). Incomprehensible breaks in the connection are gone. But still there are problems:
1) I set up wifi, everything is fine, but then I rebooted the router - and wifi does not turn on by itself. Those. you need to connect the router to the computer with a cord and again in the wifi settings press the "Enable" button. In any case, this should be treated somehow, but a cursory search in Google did not lead to anything; it means once.
2) After the native firmware, the speed has greatly decreased, and this is noticeable. Those. earlier I pulled 3-4Mb / s from torrents, it even reached 5 on popular distributions - now it barely reaches 2Mb / s, even less from the outside, it dances around 1Mb / s; it means two.
So, before scouring the Internet with frantic eyes and reading incomprehensible manuals, I decided to ask for advice here. I say right away - I didn’t change any configs in the firmware, I just plugged in the cord - the Internet settings arrived by themselves, I just had to turn on wifi - and that’s all I set up myself.
Now the technical side.
Router - Dlink DIR320 NRU;
Firmware version - OpenWrt Attitude Adjustment 12.09-rc1;
OS: Windows 8.1
I humbly ask for help in solving these two problems. I will provide any screenshots of the firmware, etc. - everything that is required, because I really would not want to return to my native firmware.

1. Most likely due to hardware problems, since it does not turn on normally - I used OpenWRT - there were no such problems on working equipment. Reboot at least a hundred - Wi-Fi always turned on by itself.
2. OpenWRT - probably eats more memory - hence the problems.
Solution: experiment with different versions - perhaps there is one that will work fine.
read the known bugs of the firmware specifically for your device / hardware.
wifi dump looks like overheating - stick a radiator.
the fact that after turning on wifi is not turned on - connect via ssh, look at the config, maybe it is saved with wifi turned off - turn it on and save.
Or change the same with resetting the settings.
about the speed: connecting pptp/l2tp? if yes, the dir 320 processor is not enough, look for / collect firmware with accel pptp / ppp modules
, disabling the uTP protocol in the torrent client will also partially help.

if you have a suitable hardware version and connection Not via pppoe - you can change it to zyxel.
just double check that the hardware revision is correct. and follow the procedure for flashing from openwrt to native firmware, otherwise you will get a brick.
