Opensource cross-platform video editor

The task is as follows: you need to write a simple video editor with the ability to cut video, glue video, add pictures as frames and overlay music. It takes a long time to write from scratch, and I'm sure that there are many different utilities and libraries that allow you to edit video. Google offers ready-made bulky editors, all the functionality of which I do not need. Maybe someone knows such opensource tools that can be used? Platform: Qt for Windows, Linux, Mac.
PS So far I have been considering Avidemux, but it is rather difficult to attach my Qt interface to it, although I did not understand it in detail. Still as a variant of the VLC library, but I didn’t find anything specifically for editing. The VLMC editor is still too raw and unstable.

There are no adequate cross-platform video editors in nature. I am telling you as a person who has been working in the field of multimedia applications development for the last 5 years. You can try to tape some broth from Qt, ffdshow, vlc, mplayer \ mencoder and get away with this business from the customer, but any amateur with Adobe Premier, Avid or Final Cut will put your creation on the shoulder blades in 5 minutes and will laugh for another half an hour.

There are no answers, so what. I know nothing about video and its editors, but I know that VirtualDub is written partly in C ++, the codes are open under the GPL and only works on Windows. Maybe this is in place.

Cross-platform editor - Vivia . Although it does not support everything you need.
You can also write a Qt wrapper over AviSynth (which runs under wine).
