Hey!
I am a front-end developer with 3 years experience. At the moment I live and work in Moscow, recently I have been working remotely and I realized that this kind of work suits me perfectly. But the salary, albeit in Moscow, is not as attractive as that of our foreign colleagues, so I am considering the possibility of remote work abroad, possibly with a future move. I know English at a fluent level, I already had a long experience of working with Americans who do not speak Russian, however, in the Moscow office, so there are no problems with the language. But on freelance or with an employer from another country, I have not yet had a chance to work.
Who had such work experience, please share the pros and cons, tell us about the specifics, salary (if you don’t mind :) ), is it difficult to pass an interview, did you try to move from Russia, did the potential employer help with a visa, how is employment and Are there any guarantees of a clear payment of wages.

In addition to vacancies, as on LinkedIn , StackOverflow or the more "startup-oriented" AngelList , you can look for long-term projects on exchanges. For example, there are quite a lot of them on Toptal (usually the estimated duration of the project is immediately indicated, and often it can be 6+ or 12+ months), plus payment issues from the customer are regulated by management (and you just get what you earn once every 2 weeks, regardless of delays on the part of the customer, like a salary in the office, in general :) )
