Old graphics card to new motherboard?

Greetings! I am assembling a computer, at the moment all the components are assembled except for the video card, it is still coming from Europe.
Asrock b450 pro4
and ryzen 5 2600
etc.
Also, I have an old Palit geforce 9800 gtx+ 512mb video card. Will it temporarily fit into my configuration? Its connector is PCI-E 16x 2.0, while the motherboard has PCI-E 16x 3.0. So I understand that the PCI-E 16x 3.0 slot also supports 2.0?
