OCZ Vertex 4 are some too low results?
Hello, everyone who cares about the problems of others)
The other day, I finally decided and still purchased an OCZ SSD drive. I read a bunch of articles about tuning, finishing, etc. and noticed a trend: the newer the messages, the more common the advice “Insert a disc and enjoy”. I practically did this, first I checked the firmware version 1.5 (the newest), turned off the regular hard drive, inserted a new one, set the AHCI mode in the BIOS and started the win7 installation from usb, then the first disappointment awaited me, instead of the 10-15 promised in the reviews It took me about 40 minutes to install. After installation, even on a clean one, the system boots for about 40 seconds. The standard Windows score for ssd is 7.0, although in the reviews it is 7.9. The only reason for all this disgrace, it seems to me, can only be covered in sata 2, tk. sata 3, unfortunately, is not on my motherboard. Can you suggest something?

In sata2, there is an answer. I won’t tell you about the installation speed, but the peak exchange rate and the assessment in Windows is it.
The SATA/300 standard operates at a frequency of 3 GHz, provides a throughput of up to 3 Gb / s (300 MB / s for data with 8b / 10b encoding).
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SATA#SATA_Revision_2.0_.28.D0.B4.D0.BE_3_.D0.93.D0.B1.D0.B8.D1.82.2F.D1.81.29
It seems to be the case.
SATA II maxes out at ~270MB/s, so mismatches with tests on the internet are to be expected. Here the user Smoke Jaguar on SATA II tested the speed, his results are more or less the same as yours, but he does not have AHCI activated and the necessary drivers are not installed.
However, in the same topic, they also achieved such indicators on SATA II:
So, you should still think about installing the necessary drivers / etc.
It was similar for me on a SiliconPower SSD, initially it was in a laptop with SATA2, I switched to SATA3 - the speed increased significantly. Everything is fine with you.
I have Vertex 4 just on Sata 2. Benches in CrystalDisk were about the same and installing Windows took about the same amount, but the rest of the results are somewhat different.
Windows starts in 8 seconds, performance score 7.6
Here is an excerpt from the site:
Known problem
4K QD32 test may conflict with Norton's and Avira's security software, so please stop real time scanner when you run CrystalDiskMark.
So turn off your antivirus before testing.
Installing from USB took 40 minutes because your USB was the bottleneck here.
