npm hangs when installing module installation, how to solve?

The bottom line is this: I install the module and npm freezes at a certain point (see screenshot), and progress does not go any further, what could be the problem? This problem can occur with any module, making it simply not installable.
PS I tried it from the ubuntu virtual machine - everything was installed as it should.
