npm 5 instead of bower?

Hello people, the question arose, how to work with npm? I used to install the necessary packages through bower to the right folder, but how to do this with npm 5? So I need to download jq, how to connect it to the project? or bootstrap-sass, or animate.css, how to include them?

Start simple - understand what is task manager and what is package management.
And then, just understand that the dependencies are installed in different folders, and that's it.
