No sound on raspberry pi?

Why is there sound on the raspbery pi2 through the audio connector, but there is no sound through the hdmi to vga adapter with a line-out, although there is sound on the laptop through the same adapter, and on rpi there is one slight noise in the speakers, but there is no sound.
On the raspberry is raspibian on a win8.1 laptop, what could be the problem?
UPD: if you plug an audio cable into the same line output in place of the speakers, then the sound is transmitted via the cable with raspberry, it is not clear why the raspberry does not transmit sound to the speakers through the same output
