Night mode of web pages in the online store, website services when justified?
Hello,
I have 4 questions about switching to night mode of the site pages:
1) In what situations is it justified?
2) What are the potential pitfalls?
3) Are there color palettes for night mode? (Or does everything that is in the color palettes of the material already take these colors into account?).
4) Is it enough to just change the color of the text? When do you need to think about the inscription?

I think that it makes sense to think about this only for sites of daily consumption - that is, those where people spend every or almost every day for many hours. For example, a mail service, social networks, a book reader, something related to work, Wikipedia, Google, github, headhunter, etc.
For all other cases, a person has no time and no need to understand the intricacies of your interface. If you really need it, the problem is solved at the browser level (for example, UC has such a function) or OS (Makos has it), and not the site - even if such plugins often do not work well. Just because if I go to hundreds of sites, I don't want to set up all of them individually.
And only, I repeat, for systems with constant many hours of use, this can be justified. I think that each person has no more than 3-5 such sites.
1) Situations are different, the buyer can enter the site with the lights on in the room, and then it may not be very convenient. And there are people who will be comfortable. 50/50 I think. It is unlikely that there will be eccentrics who will shop while walking home through a dark park ...
2) 1)
3) I don’t know
4) Since the night mode, the background can be changed to a dark color. And the writing is not so important.
