NetBios domain name and domain name - what are the differences?

I read the manual, two concepts met, but I can’t understand how the netbios domain name differs from the domain name (example: kazan.wsr is the domain, and KAZAN -NetBios is the domain name), and is written when entering the device KAZAN / username). So how are they different?
