advise a good utility for testing an external USB HDD.
Interested in a detailed SMART status report and read / write speed graph.
An analogue of HD Tune so to speak.

There is nothing similar to HD Tune for poppy, I have been looking for a year :(
Without graphs, but you can test the write / read speed with xbench.
