What is the purpose of buying a motherboard? In the sense for which you plan to use a computer based on it.
This is the latest current price for my suppliers as of March 2010, so it is unlikely that this is already such a profitable deal from the “almost for nothing” discharge. The motherboard is a beast, but already a little outdated. Even if there is a top-end Core 2 Quad available, the point of buying it is very doubtful. You can buy a mother cheaper and she will pull it normally. If the upgrade is complete, then you should at least think about i3 + 1156. Better yet, wait half a year - Ivy Bridge, Bulldozer etc.
