Motherboard 1155 (with mod. BIOS) to run NVMe SSD M.2 (in boot mode!) via PCI-E?
Hello.
1155 motherboards do NOT include an M.2 connector.
Nevertheless, for personal purposes, I want to upgrade the system with the installation of the Intel Xeon E3-1220V2 + mother bundle to 1155.
I wondered: how can I put (if we discard the Chinese comrades with Juanan 75) as a boot disk exactly NVMe SSD M.2?
It is known that there are motherboards for which there are unofficial BIOS modifications for SSD operation through a PCI-E "adapter". And not just an adapter (it won't work without modifying the BIOS), namely, so that the SSD is bootable!
Question: tell me, guru and who implemented: what specific models are mat. boards will work on this configuration.
In other words, what exactly motherboards can be flashed for the correct operation of the PCI-E to M.2 NMVe adapter?
Thank you!

It won't boot without flashing the bios. A firmware to find such is unlikely.
And who needs it?
What's the problem with booting from another drive?
