Monitor for web development: 24" IPS or 27" TN+FILM?
Good afternoon!
Please advise what is better to take for web development:
24" IPS (Dell UltraSharp U2412M)
or
27" TN+FILM (Philips E-line 273E3LSB/01)?
The criteria are as follows:
* Comfortable work in IDE (NetBeans), displaying many panels
* Displaying a large number of tabs in firefox and chrome (> 70)
* Good color reproduction
* Comfortable work with 3d in Blender
* Human viewing angles so that you can turn the monitor 90 degrees if desired, to work with the code
* Normal support for the linux kernel (although I think that this is not a problem)
Now it's 19" samsung.
Will there be problems for the eyes if you put the old TN + Film and the new IPS next to it, maybe someone did you encounter?

Definitely dell. It has a higher resolution (vertically, which is important for development), while the standard ppi will fit more information and will be comfortable to perceive it. + ips - such a huge "+".
27 "this one is better only as a cheap option for watching movies and games. It is not very suitable for work - a large pixel, low resolution and a bad matrix.
If you have experience of foreign online shopping, then I advise you to take a closer look at the Koreans on the IPS matrix - Topic on ixbt.com "27 IPS 2560x1440 monitors for $ 370 in Russia" .
There are two 24 "side by side - one IPS, the second TN.
The difference is huge, it's more comfortable to work on IPS, on the second monitor, as a rule, video or secondary documents / tabs. windows are convenient.
In general, I would recommend 27" IPS noname
The monitors are the same in terms of the number of pixels in width, which means that the panels in the IDE and the tabs in chrome will have the same number. Pivot (so that you can turn the monitor 90 degrees if desired) is missing from the Panasonic monitor.
I consider the purchase of the Dell 2412M to be my best purchase of the past year. The corners are excellent, the color reproduction (after calibration with tftcentral settings) is at a high level, the eyes do not get tired, the “additional” 120 pixels in height do not stand idle. In general, the ratio of 16:10 is clearly more convenient and I believe that the dominance of 16:9 is due only to the savings of manufacturers, because a screen with a 24-inch diagonal with an aspect ratio of 16:10 is 1670 cm², while 16:9 with the same diagonal is already only 1587 cm² .
An active USB hub in the monitor allows you to connect peripherals, reducing the "noodles" of wires.
I am writing about my experience. I have 26 "H-IPS, I work with graphics, 2D / 3D, and over time, you know, I want 30" more and more, and even better the second one, put next to it for referral pictures and diagrams / plans. The eyes do not get tired, they run every day across the entire area of the screen; they get much more tired when you ride the train/bus and look out the window. I put monitors of different technologies side by side: even after calibrating for the same parameters, I couldn’t get the same picture, some kind of alien hostility appeared from the second one, it was “green” at the same temperature, then the black level was higher, so I abandoned this idea. Take the first one from Dell, I haven’t seen it myself, but they seem to praise them - after 19 "it will be a paradise for the eyes.
24 is better than 27. For a programmer. But 2 to 24 is better, which is paradoxical.
All sorts of designers, of course, will not agree.
IPS is definitely better than TN for peepholes. Different monitors are evil
If possible, look at monitors on *VA matrices. I like them for text much more than IPS. Well, about TN you have already been told everything.
I also recently chose a 24 monitor between: Dell U2412M (review) and ASUS PA246Q (review) . I bought ASUS, which by the way is 6 thousand more expensive.
In general, I am satisfied, but in my opinion (programming) it is more convenient to work on the old 19. Games and movies on 24 certainly rule.

27" non-TN.
The golden mean, in general. And not expensive ;)
Of these two, of course Dell. Nothing to even think about. Philips has a small resolution, I would still understand if there was a full-fledged matrix, and so - in the trash. Joke. :)
Different matrices nearby do not irritate, at home e-ips and old s-pva, at work two tn-film but calibrated who went to the forest who for firewood - work fine, after 10 minutes you will forget and you will not remember again.
Dell is badly damaged, you can easily find an instance with a terrible tint and a “wet rag”.
If you want, you can buy abroad ao reviews a good option.
