Missing text in dropdown menu in Google Chrome. How to fix?

Right click drop down menu items disappear on hover, same thing in settings menu and chromium.
OS - Ubuntu gnome 14.04, pepper flash plugin installed.
Google Chrome 36.0.1985.125 (Official Build 283153)
OS Linux
JavaScript V8 3.26.31.8
