Migrating VDI from Ubuntu host to Windows

Good afternoon

I decided to start all the delights of virtualization and created an advanced Denver analogue in the form of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (32 bit) installed in VirtualBox.

Created under Ubuntu 11.10 x64. Transferred the VDI file to Windows 7 (32 bit) and tried to run it in VirtualBox. As a result, error without details.

How to start a virtual machine in Win7? Use clonevdi?

Before transfer, it is advisable to unmount the shared folders, CD and FDD
Copy:
Virtual machine settings from ~/.VirtualBox/Machines to %USERPROFILE%/.VirtualBox/Machines
Drives from ~/.VirtualBox/ VDI to %USERPROFILE%/.VirtualBox/ VDI
From file ~/.VirtualBox/VirtualBox.xml copy to %USERPROFILE%/.VirtualBox/VirtualBox.xml
lines:
MachineEntry (link to machine settings) and HardDisk (Link to hard. Can be added via menu)
Edit paths
In files %USERPROFILE%/ .VirtualBox/Machines/name/*.xml
Replace version="1.x-linux" with version="1.x-windows" without changing the version number
(if the version is younger, the file will be converted to the new one)
Copy-paste from the manual , found in my bookmarks. The site is down now. Found in the cache. I hope it helps
