How to make a file available for viewing by everyone in Microsoft Office Excel, and editing only with a password?

Setting a password to protect an Excel spreadsheet from being modified
In addition to a password to open an Excel spreadsheet, you can also set a password to protect the file from being modified by other users.
Click the Microsoft Office Button Picture of the Office button, click Save As, and at the bottom of the Save Document dialog box, click Tools.
From the Tools menu, select General Options. The General Options dialog box opens.
In the File Sharing section, enter a password in the Password to change: field.
In the Confirm Password dialog box, enter the password again and click OK.
Click the Save button.
NOTE To remove the password, repeat the above procedure and remove the password from the Password to change: field. Click the Save button.
