Menu editing in Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook Unity?

Has anyone been able to edit menus on an Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook with Unity enabled?
On 10.04 the gnome editor worked. Now the changes made in it are not displayed in any way in the interface.
In fact, there are two questions:
1. Adding a shortcut to run the script (and parking it in the dock), which was previously solved by the menu editor
2. Mounting network shares on Samba and adding a link to it in the file manager, again in 10.04 there was such an opportunity in manager interface.
Either he googled badly, or indeed there are no docks on it yet, only uninformative reviews about beautiful buttons.
