Cables and wires

Maybe grease the wires with something?

Okay, cables from the phone, but the same trouble with wires from laptops, which are decently more expensive.

I noticed that the wires seem to dry out first, and then break like this, I thought maybe they could be lubricated with something? oil or something? soak somehow?

If smeared with the blood of a dragon, then the wires will be able to withstand hellfire (for a short time). ;)
In general, it can be in the solar ultraviolet, from which the plastic becomes brittle. UV-resistant insulation is traditionally made in black (I don’t know why, maybe someone will clarify in the comments).
