Macbook and external monitor over hdmi?

- Dell s2340L (1920x1080)
- Thunderbolt to HDMI (Moshi)
Very poor image/font quality on an external monitor. How can this problem be solved?

The solution turned out to be simple)
defaults -currentHost write -globalDomain AppleFontSmoothing -int 1
