MacBook Air M1 16/512 or Pro M1 16/256?
Help me solve my headache, I just can’t decide: take Air M1 with 16 GB of RAM for 512 GB or take Pro with the same 16 GB but 256 GB?
Will Air get warm? I will use, most often, in the browser (usually you need 4-6 open tabs, of which half are Google services - tables, documents), telegrams, music in spotify, text editors sometimes, watching movies / videos. Zoom calls several times a week. Sometimes some kind of Logic Pro or Ableton (but rarely).
I want to buy a laptop with the expectation of using it for the next 5+ years.
What would I choose in my place: less memory, but a laptop with active cooling, or enough air without cooling, but there will be more memory?
I don't edit video, for PS games
UPD.: Perhaps an important note: I spend 8 hours a day on a laptop

If this is an office version of the type of Internet / tablets, then AIR is enough for the eye.
If you need something more serious, take Proshka
. In any case, it’s not enough for me that 256 is 512 ... I have 5tb current of my information, not counting the working one ... something like this)
1) Air is enough for you.
2) judging by the question, 256 is enough for you.
well, take Air 16/256. for the difference from 512, you can buy an external terabyte SSD and have a good coffee with cakes.
I have had one since April - the flight is not something that is normal - it is awesome. area of use - all everyday life plus iOS development.
PS / in fact, if you take not admiring the numbers in the tests, but real sensations, the difference between last year's Air and Pro on the M1 is only taste and ideology - what do you like more - "touchbar strip" or F-keys, do you like the body more - tile or body-wedge. come to the store, feel and buy what you like best.
Take Air, I have Air M1 and the firmware is already a new 16 inch on M1 pro.
Eir is just super light, thin, it’s like a tablet with a keyboard only with full-fledged software, I always have it with me, even when I go to the store for bread, I don’t pull it out of my backpack.
MacBook Air M1 16/512 drags with a bang and 4k movies and an external 5k monitor and several browsers with a bunch of tabs and at the same time with a development environment. Even 4k videos can be mounted on it, some kind of tangible throttling will probably begin only after 10 minutes of continuous 100% load, but such loads are difficult to achieve even with compilations, probably only video rendering can eat all the resources.
