Low speed devices over Wi-Fi on the TP Link TL-WDR3600 router

Sufficiently productive device - TP Link TL-WDR3600. I changed it in the expectation that the speed of the Wi-Fi devices connected to it will be (internetwork), at least a few megabytes. But, for some reason, the speed of copying files between a computer and a media player, via wi-fi, remained at the same level - 1.1 MB / s. This is despite the fact that from the Internet the speed can reach up to 5MB / s. Before that there was another router - D-Link DSL-2640U. The situation was exactly the same.
What do you advise? Is it too late to change router? Firmware? Something else?

There, as far as I know, 2.4 and 5 GHz, try to supply one range, analyze the load on the channels by other networks, and if there are "competitors", change the channel. I think you have rolled up the latest firmware, if not, then you need it. Well, there is always a chance that the problem is not in the router, especially since you yourself write "The situation was exactly the same" what the media player is like - maybe the problem is the recording speed on it in the disk system.
