Looking for permanent remote work?

Dear remote developers, I would like to ask your expert opinion. Is it realistic for a Java developer with several years of experience in the office but no experience of remote work and freelancing to get a permanent job at a foreign company with a salary of 55K$/year (i.e. 25+$/hour)? Skill level: between middle and senior, English is excellent.
And are there any problems with banks and tax authorities, given that this year there was a wave of blocking of IP accounts for various reasons in different banks? Did the customer or the bank delay payments to you? (if you have a mortgage, this item is very important :))
Thank you!

a bank that respects its reputation can *strongly* limit the chances of remote workers from the "wrong" country of residence - just move there and all problems will disappear ..
