Local server on Windows VM?

The question is, the site server on debian.
I want to install a local server on a PC to work with the site and then send updates via the Gitlab CI CD.

The question of such a plan? whether to install an open server? or WAMPSERVER?

Or put a virtual machine and roll debian there?

Or, in general, buy another server for development and not worry about it. Which option is better?

Lots of options.
IMHO, the test/stage server should be made as similar as possible to the grocery one.
Respectively:

  • virtual machine with debian
  • separate debian server

Theoretically, the best option (IMHO):
1. Install a virtual machine on the current server with the site - debian is there and transfer the site there.
2. Yes, buy another server and also raise a virtual machine there and debian with the site there.
This will make it easy to transfer snapshots back and forth, which is very convenient.
