If the microcontroller has a bootloader, then the programmer is not needed.
In order to have an understanding of what and where to shove, first you need to read the literature you need. The rush won't work. This is not a garden that you can dig up impudently!
Since there is no understanding of what can be done with MK, then there is no need to contact them.
And yes: if you have a desire, being a complete ignoramus, to lay down your conceit about understanding electronics, you can buy an arduino.
