Linux: How to replace BFilter?

The question is the following.
Linux has a wonderful BFilter program that can filter WEB traffic in various ways. It can block URL requests by mask, can cut out unwanted information from the page's HTML code, and has an intelligent autofilter. For BFilter, even a converter has been written that converts ADBlock rules into an additional BFilter config.
Unfortunately, BFilter hasn't been developed for several years now and is obsolete. Recently, on some pages, it starts to eat up 100% of the processor time. In general, it's time to change it to something more modern.
And then it turns out that there is nothing modern! The popular DansGuardian has an extensive filtering system, but works on the principle of “Blocking the entire page”. There is no option in DansGuardian to strip ads or unwanted “Shock! The grandson smoked all the grandfather's orders.
In this connection, the question is - are there any other traffic filters besides BFilter that allow you to remove unwanted content from the page's HTML code? I consider it non-kosher to use filters inside the browser - you need to configure each browser in the apartment separately, each browser will gobble up computer resources for filtering, instead of doing it once on the server.
