Lenovo Thinkpad x230 under warranty - throw it away or can something be done?
The situation in brief: The
x230 video card burned out, the factory warranty is 6 years, but there are no receipts from the store . I handed it over to an authorized SC, more than 3 (THREE!) Months have passed. They are fed breakfast, they said (in order of priority) the following:
1. we are waiting for the ordered part (one and a half to two months)
2. the required part is no longer manufactured and is not available, you can order a similar one (from x230 of a different configuration, as I understand it)
3. we are waiting ordered part-analogue (so far)
By law, there is a limitation on the period of warranty repairs - 45 days. In the SC they say that they can write out documents for me - "you go to the store where you bought it, they will return the money to you." But I don’t have such an opportunity, and it turns out that I have nowhere to go. Either wait some more (for the rest of your life), or repair at your own expense (for which there are no funds due to the extremely shitty financial situation).
I am a fan of the Thinkpad brand, and in fact bought a "dream laptop", counting on the appropriate level of service and support. As a result, we have what we have - three months without a computer and unclear prospects.
The question is what is the best way to deal with such a situation? Does Lenovo have any contacts for solving such issues?
