Leave the company or stay and go remote?
Good afternoon.
Now I work as a php-shnik - jun. The company has its own project, several versions, the oldest one on a self-written framework, the newest on yii.
I mainly deal with minor edits and write all sorts of parsers. Like all juniors in general
, I came here already with experience in symfony, twig, git, linux, I read Matt Zandstra's book on OOP and patterns and other goodies. I want to develop further, clean up govnokod and so on. But there is no such person in the company who would help me with this, i.e. "mentor", no code review, no advice. Maybe, of course, I began to write better, but not so much, I guess.
Should I leave here and look for a job where there will be a person who will accelerate my development, or should I stay here and ask for a remote job and continue developing myself, because. from my presence in the office there is no sense (I get to work an hour and a half)?

Jun needs a mentor by his side.
It is not effective for Jun to study on his own - there will be extremely slow growth. I saw juniors and with seven years of experience, they worked as a freelance remote - and in 7 years they have advanced in the same way as the juniors in our office for 2 years.
Ideal for Growth:
Large firm with challenging tasks and qualified colleagues.
That's what people don't do if they don't work themselves, well, they don't do code reviews for you, do it yourself for others, the field of activity is vast, in small offices you can do anything you want and this is a big plus
I don't think you should ever go anywhere. Keep working, and after work, do what you would like to do remotely. As soon as you feel that you get more remote work than your main job, then you can leave.
"should I get out of here and look for a job where there will be a person who will accelerate my development"
Are you sure that you can find a job with such a person?
Who's stopping you from dumping and looking for a job in parallel? Find, pass the interview, make sure that you fit and fit you, agree on a delay of 2 weeks and move on.
And then these dreams "my work is shit, I'll leave - I'll definitely find a better one" ...
Leave and look for a job in an office with a normal stack and employees. Change symfony to yii. This is not the best solution.
I advise you to change the company if they don't give you a mentor here. Move to another company where they will see you as a prospect for the company. Otherwise, you will be stuck in place for a long time.
