LDAP. How to include users in groups so that this group would be displayed in the user?

I understand c LDAP and came to the conclusion that there is no memberOf here as in AD.
That is, you can add users to the group (posixGroup), but by the user it is not realistic to find out which groups he belongs to.
Here they write that switching to groupOfNames will help, but I can’t get a taste of how it should work in the end.
