Keyboard not working after waking up in xubuntu, where to dig?

Good afternoon.
After waking up the laptop (Sony Wayo) from sleep, the keyboard turns on after 10 seconds, and after another 5 it stops working. The laptop seems to be frozen.
We searched the net, but did not find anything sensible, except for this method of resuscitation of the keyboard: you need to open the on-screen keyboard with the mouse and press Caps lock on it - then the iron one will also start working.
Where to even dig to fix it?
