Yesterday I installed windows 8.1 and found one terrible bug: when I try to search in the same explorer on the Russian layout, language switching breaks in the system, which can only be cured by rebooting or adding / removing the Russian layout in the control panel.

In an attempt to find a solution to the problem, I noticed that the cant is manifested only by the inclusion of remembering the input method for each application.
I sinned on the installed punto switcher, but neither disabling, nor reinstalling, nor deleting help.

8.1 beta, rc, no such problems on three machines with the same setup. all updates are installed.

The problem appeared on RTM in a net wrote to them on answers.microsoft.com but never received a response (probably because I wrote in a closed answer). The most annoying thing was when the problem began to sync with Surface on RT 8.1 Preview.
Didn't heal at all. I haven’t noticed it lately: the language panel works on the taskbar, win + space switch languages, although now, for example, the metro switch is not available.
Try to install all updates. It seems we are just "lucky".
Another option is that the problem is with some kind of firewood (search for something throughout the system). I have a Sony Vaio S series laptop with a discrete vidyuhi. What do you have?

8.1 with all updates, license (I bought an update, but put it clean, MSDN image) - the problem is present - also when trying to search in the "This" computer window.

A similar problem - after pressing "Start" I start looking for something on the computer and if I press Pause (punto switcher), then the Russian language immediately falls off.
So far I'm only treating myself with a reboot.
PS is punto switcher 3.2.9 with auto-switching disabled and remembering the selected input language for applications is enabled.

The same symptoms. Search breaks language switching to 8.1. I also sinned on Punto, disabling does not help.
