It is not clear where the letters from the site go?

The situation is the following. Tested the site on a local server (Denver). Letters were sent using the mail() function. On the local server, the letters went as they should and ended up in the tmp/!sendmail folder. When transferring the site to hosting, letters do not reach the addressee, but the script itself says that the letter has been sent. Accordingly, the question is, where are the letters sent and how to set up sending letters from the hosting?

@Totangens

In general, after talking with the hosting technical support service, it turned out that my letters do not comply with the DMARC policy. The discrepancy was that my letters had the entry From: [email protected] in the header. This e-mail was the default, because I did not use my own script. After changing the address to [email protected], everything returned to normal. Those. The address must contain the domain name.
