Is WPF relevant now?

I write and wrote in C # + WPF, but recently I began to hear that WPF is becoming a thing of the past (development stopped 5 years ago and the like). Is it true that WPF is destined for WinForms? Is there an alternative to WPF? What does Microsoft offer for GUI development now?

Relevant. I don't know anything better. This tool does not have to be constantly developed. solves his problem. By the way, WinForms is not such a bad fate. It is quite efficient and many people use it with great pleasure.

Of course, it is relevant, now all ModernUI applications for Windows are written on this. On WP8, the same xaml, only the possibilities are slightly reduced compared to the WPF application on the desktop

Yes, there is some stagnation, the main forces have been transferred to .net core and asp.net
What exactly do you mean by "the fate of WinForms"?
Under .Net, no, under WinRT there is a similar subsystem, largely copied from WPF, in general, there is also Qt for the desktop, but this is C ++ (except for bindings to other languages)
Universal Windows Platform for Windows 10 is their main focus, nothing new for the classic desktop.
There is no alternative for .net, it cannot go anywhere (not everyone wants to get involved with Metro and UWP applications yet).
