Is VS Code able to debug js modules/applications in node.js?

subject actually. I want to emphasize that I'm interested in the answer for both Linux and Windows.
if someone has a successful experience - what extensions are needed?
(upd) or a set of extensions for working with the node. everything related to html/css is not required yet

VS Code provides a good debugger for Node.JS out of the box, but if something is missing, it is achieved with modules.
For example, in WIN10 pro it allows you to work with wsl without dancing with a tambourine.
