Is this information monitored and how?
hello,
I read a long time ago that once the special services found the organizers of the terrorist attacks in a computer game: people corresponded in an online game without directly discussing the topic of the undertaking.
Tell me how it works and how it is monitored? Here are a few examples that interest me:
1) Any game chats. How?
As I see it, the entire history of correspondence within the game is supposedly stored on the game server. Do I understand correctly that the owners of such servers provide access to special services for monitoring? For example, a person writes in a game using certain keys by which he may be interested in organs. The game can be used for other purposes. How is such monitoring arranged and is it arranged?
2) For example, online services: Google Docs or, as an example, design Figma (an online service for creating layouts, several people can work in one document at once).
Here's what interests me: what if people discuss something forbidden in such programs, do they immediately come to the attention of the authorities? As I imagine it: text input is duplicated somewhere and automatically monitored for the right keys. Here is another situation: what if a person does not enter text, but conditionally loads pictures or vector objects that replace words or imitate words.
How, then, will the authorities find potential intruders?
3) Cloud storage. All the information that is uploaded, for example, to a dropbox or an evernote, is monitored? Example: for example, a person uploaded some compressed file with passwords and other protection to the cloud, where the forbidden is discussed. How will they find him?
4) Leading question to the above, omitting the situation with the authorities: is this information sold to advertisers?
For example, a person in the game is discussing concrete in a chat and they begin to advertise concrete to him.
In Google documents and other online services, a person writes about mattresses and they start selling him a near-thematic story.
I will be glad for any useful info!

Data storage - different countries have different laws, on average, even after you stop buying a service (for example, email), your data will still be stored for a month.
Issuance of data - an official request comes from the court / FBI / local gendarmerie, in which it is clearly indicated what and for how long the company is obliged to provide. - for example, all logs about sent and received letters from the user [email protected] from April 1st to April 17th. and this applies to any other service.
About advertising - it depends on what you signed up for in the user agreement, there can be anything.
Companies capable of conducting a full-fledged analysis of information can probably be counted on the fingers of one hand.
Firstly, you can hire an army of 'monkeys' and they will read and look for absolutely all correspondence, look at all pictures and so on, prohibiting all communication that these overseers do not understand , and even in this case, there are ways to hide information - steganography or smearing information on parallel accounts, i.e. some of the information needed to understand the context will be outside of this chat, nothing and no one can do anything with it.
Of course, thanks to this, no automated tools will also help, no matter how much you spend on the development of artificial intelligence.
But this does not mean that they are not doing it, why do you think Google or Yandex invests billions in information analysis, speech and image recognition.
ps if you are young and stupid, and a company affiliated with heterostructures has come to you, think three times whether you are ready to make a deal with your conscience and build a future totalitarian hell for yourself and your children with your own hands.
Any developments on the topic of censoring and analyzing information for the purpose of control and management are walking on a knife-edge, no matter what you are told, no matter what it was allegedly created for.
