Programs for video surveillance systems do not use playlists, and if you have an m3u8 file at the input that contains stream addresses, you will have to extract these addresses. If the lines in m3u8 lead to an RTSP or HTTP source, something might work out. Try ISS SecurOS Lite , it's free and has built-in JavaScript for user programs. If the file is not the addresses of the streams, but the addresses of the files on the disk, little will come of it, use the power of VLC
