Is there life in Java (Backend) apart from Fintech?

Good afternoon.

Who is currently working on the Java (Spring) stack can tell you the situation on the market. Is the stack in demand for new projects? And are there top (in terms of salary) vacancies not in fintech?

After viewing habr-vacancies and hh.ru, I got the impression that almost all Java (Spring) vacancies are outsourcing and banks. And like everything. And everywhere there is Java 8, sometimes Java 11 and the comments of the guys that worked there - that some kind of digging in legacy without a hint of a brighter future.

digging in legacy without a hint of a brighter future
do you really understand the meaning of the word legacy? there are no projects without legacy in principle
Is the stack in demand for new projects?
Yes
And are there top (in terms of salary) vacancies not in fintech?
Well yes, but rather no. Occasionally a couple of fat vacancies for two dozen from fintech
And everywhere there is Java 8, sometimes Java 11
there is also java 4. If you don’t understand why there is no version 9, 10 and newer than 11, then I have big questions about your competence
when will people finally understand that in the real world, well, nothing in the company depends on the language. Startups write prototyping shit (in terms of code) in simple languages like python. Then, if the project fired, they write in a normal language like Java, but the old part is already there. Practically only banks can afford to immediately fuck on Java without testing the hypothesis. Well, a new company without an established project cannot pay millions just like that, but an already established company with a good income, which, thanks to its project, will obviously be "legacy" for you

There is. I’ll tell you personally about myself - I work in the field of logistics, we have Java 11 in runtime, and we write in Kotlin. The stack is quite modern (there is some legacy, but not too much).
I also know for sure that CDEK is looking for Java developers, but I can’t say anything more about them.

Is the stack in demand for new projects?

Very much.
And are there top (in terms of salary) vacancies not in fintech?

There are not a few. Fintech is just more.
And everywhere there is Java 8, sometimes Java 11 and the comments of the guys that worked there - that some kind of digging in legacy without a hint of a brighter future.

Where is there? Rosselkhozbank?

Who did not delve into legacy - did not work on successful projects.
