Is there any way to 'program' the eject button?

On a 2012 macbook, optibay is installed instead of an optical drive, so the eject disk button is not working. Maybe it can be used with some tweak, for example, take a screenshot

@sergiks

Maybe some extra. utility.
The Eject button is already used for useful purposes:

  • control + eject = sleep, restart or shut down dialog.
  • command + option + eject = immediately fall asleep
  • control + command + eject = reload
  • control + option + command + eject = disable
  • control + shift + eject = display goes to sleep
