Is there any reason to switch from Windows to Linux if I plan to study information security?

Hello everyone, I decided to study information security closely, is it worth it to thoroughly switch from Windows to Linux, that is, set it as the main OS?
Preferably with reason.

If there are tasks that you can solve more efficiently on Linux than on Windows + wsl, then yes.
If there are no such tasks and you are generally more comfortable under Windows, then no.
It’s impossible to say specifically, because under IS everyone understands something of their own

It depends entirely on you. You can not switch to Linux completely, but put it next to Windows. And if you still decide to switch or put it next to it, start with friendly distributions, such as Ubuntu or Mint. Linux Mint "out of the box" interface is more like Windows. For example, I tried to install Linux, I liked it and now I use it. I'm on Linux Mint and it's enough for me. Windows 7 is also worth it. This removes the problem with the lack of programs. And on your 16 gigs, probably any distribution will pull. And don't be afraid to break the system. Save everything important and break it down to health. If you're not afraid to break it, it's easier to understand the system.

If there is a second computer / laptop - why not. If this is a problem - put Linux on a virtual machine and study information security. In any case, you need to know Linux, because. servers are mostly hosted on it.
