Is there any particular difference between Pentium 2.4GHz and Core i3 2.4GHz for gaming?

A simple laptop with a core i3 is 3k more expensive, so I want to know if they differ much?
And also NVIDIA GeForce GT 720M - normal?
Games for me - dotka, cs go, minecraft, warface, etc.

@Lesoglas

warface rather no than yes
and the rest should take off
720m a little stronger than 540m, and on it minecraft works fine in 1366*768
for me personally, I would take it not even with i3, but with i5 because the latter has a turbo boost.
total:
pentium - 2 cores, 2 threads
i3 - 2 cores, 4 threads
i5 - 2 cores, 4 threads, turbo boost
i7 - 2 cores, 4 threads, turbo boost, stronger graphics and more cache
i7q - 4 cores (but lower frequency ), 8 threads, turbo boost, graphics and cache

such processors should not be considered for gaming at all.

@iproger

They have different technologies, the frequency is 30% maximum of what needs to be weighed.
In general, a laptop for games is bullshit. Friends have laptops on i5, rather weak. I have an i7, it pulls 100% of everything and everything in a big way.

i3-2230m, GT520 - dotka on low-medium goes and minecraft goes. Didn't try others.
But yes, not in the frequency of happiness. Technologies are different, for example, I have 2 physical cores and 4 logical cores, which helps when several programs are running.
