Domain name market
MisoiFosti, 2017-10-23 15:34:28

Is there any liability for providing false data when registering a domain?

Is there any criminal or administrative liability for providing deliberately false data (such as full name, passport data and address) when registering a domain?
What sanctions are usually applied by the registrar? Everyone writes: "the domain can be lost." What is meant by "lose"?
Will the domain purchase certificate be canceled and I will have to buy it again? Or will such a domain name be banned altogether and no one will ever be able to register it? Or maybe it means that the registrar will wring it from me and sell it to anyone, since I have nothing to present as evidence that I bought it?
The use of fake or third-party scans is not considered. The fact that this is a scam is already well explained in many places on the Internet.

Depending on the registrar.
If he declares at all that he checks, then the sanction may be the termination of the contract with you - that is, the separation of all domains from this registrar (and the money has already been paid :) these domains - that is, pay for them again :) - and the registrar, if he checks the data, will check them again and again chick!
There are registrars that are completely parallel.

Of course I don't know. But let's think, if suddenly your password was stolen, picked up. Your domain has been taken over. How can you prove that it belonged to you?
But this is true for popular names on the domain market, or if the domain name is dear to you or you receive mail on it and your entire environment is already writing to you at this mail. In such cases, losing administration will be very unpleasant (from now on, all your mail is no longer yours - well, at least all incoming new mail), you can also come up with many critical scenarios for business.
In any other cases, it's probably not worth bathing. On the other hand, it is not clear for what purpose you are buying a domain and what is the point of not providing your data to the registrar?

I don't think. If you want to get a more specific answer, you should decide on the country.
> What sanctions are usually applied by the registrar?
And there are orders of magnitude more registrars than countries.

))) there is already a crime))) and the last three words have absolutely no effect, i.e. The question from the point of view of the CC looks like this:
1. If the registrar does not ask for a scan of the passport, this is at least a sharomyga, as a maximum he threw.
2. Subject to the Law on Persian. data, even the most seasoned sharomyga will not give PD for any request, except for the official. paper from the authorities, in fact, a case should be opened, etc.! here below they commented on what can - this is cunning, CANNOT!
3. selling a domain, if you are not in the MSC, always requires a notary, show me a notary who will go for forgery for the sake of your miserable thousand rubles?))) and a good notary is almost always either a former employee or closely associated with this circle. ... you just apply, they will already be waiting near the entrance))))

There is such a thing as Whois Icann Verification. The formality is true. If not passed, the domain is parked and blocked. How to get there - ask your registrar. It is implemented differently for everyone,
but in general, depending on which TLD. For example uk, sg, es, de can simply delete the domain. You won't get money back.
